Cut out the junk food (or at least greatly cut down on it) and load up on healthy food. You want to concentrate on getting fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and a minimal amount of good fats like olive oil. Drink lots of water..

Do Cardio (walking, jogging, running, step climbing) for about 30 mins… And weight lifting, everyother day.. And make sure you get enough sleep..(7-8hrs).. And if you love.. Crunches and etc add them in too..

• 1) CRUNCHES/SITUPS – Lie flat on your back and with your knees bent; lift your shoulders off the floor without using your neck.
• 2) LEG RAISES – Lie flat on your back, raising both legs from the floor at the same time in a fluid movement.
• 3) REVERSE CURL – Lie on your back and bend your knees towards the chest, while keeping your hips on the floor.
• 4) CAPTAINS CHAIR – While sitting on a sturdy chair, grip the armrests and slowly lift your knees towards your chest. Keep your back straight and do not use your neck muscles!
• 5) FLUTTER KICKS – Lie on your back with knees bent and your feet flat. Straighten both legs and alternate lifting each leg at 45 to 90 ° angles.
• 6) FULL SITUP WITH TWIST – Lie on your back with knees bent and your feet flat. Contract your abdominals and raise shoulders off the surface. Twist shoulder towards the opposite knee and return to starting position.
• 7) STRAIGHT LEG OBLIQUES – Lie on your back and lift your legs straight into the air. Rotate your legs to either side alternatively, whilst keeping your legs straight at all times.

Simple everyday exercises to lose belly fat?

Drink only water or unsweetened tea. Sodas and juices have a lot of calories, but they don’t fill you up. Even diet soda has been known to trigger cravings for sweets. However, drinking water has been shown to speed up your metabolism.
Avoid salty foods. You should not eat anything that contains a lot of salt. You should even avoid putting salt on the foods that you do it. Salty foods cause your body to retain water, which makes you weight more and look bloated.
For 10 days, you should only eat fruits and vegetables, and occasionally lean meats (watch the salt content!). Do not eat any breads, pastas, dairy products, or fatty dressings. This will cause you to lose any water weight that you have been retaining, making you look and feel slimmer.
By exercising for at least 30 minutes every day, you can increase the amount of weight lost.
warning……………………….
You can eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want; just don’t eat the other things.
This diet may be too low-calorie to sustain long term. You should only do it for the suggested 10 days.
The weight that you lose is likely to be only water weight. You will probably gain the weight back when you return to your normal eating habits.

Any tips for teenage weight loss? (easy diet tips, exercise etc…)?

okay, so I’m 14yrs old, 5′ 6″…and weigh 180 something lbs. I am TIRED of weighing so much! I tried a diet for a while, and it worked….but I went off track and can’t seem to get back on and have now gained back all that I lost. I eat 100% whole grain bread and eat very healthy…but I guess my problem is eating too much too often.(my breakfast is always 3/4 cups of granola cereal or Kashi wheat squares. Lunch is usually an apple and a granola bar…but sometimes I forget my lunch or steal from my friends trays. My mom cooks the meals…so I have no control over that.) I tell myself that if I eat a big lunch or breakfast, I won’t have a snack later, but I always seem to end up have a snack and going overboard!!! I love fruit and most veggies, and unfortunately…carbs. Is there ANYTHING that I can do (without paying for any kind of diet program etc…) to help me loose weight? I can’t exactly go and buy some diet pills or anything or go to weightwatchers. I live in a VERY hilly area, and so it seems difficult to start out a daily running routine in/on such harsh terrain. I’m an extremely shy person and so I absolutely HATE going to the gym. Is there anything I can do to help me loose weight? I’m desperate here! (i want to do this the “healthy way”)
Is Acai berry really alright for 14 year olds? I mean…I’ve considered it… but i just don’t want ot risk it if there is any risk in it at all.

You seem to be eating pretty healthy, so congratulate yourself on that. Eating healthy is hard to do (for me, at least!) Try keeping yourself busy to avoid snacking. If you usually snack while watching t.v, or using the computer, find something else that will keep you busy. Ask your parents to buy you a fun workout dvd (maybe for your birthday ect.). Something that you’ll enjoy doing, like a dance workout. Talk to your parents about maybe enrolling you in a dance class, or boxing. It will help you lose weight and probably even help you build more confidence! Good luck!

Why do people think that weight loss is easy? That they can pop a pill and never break a sweat?

Im so tired of peole whining that they want to lose weight, which pill should they take. The key to weight loss is diet and exercise. If you work out, great! You have to keep pushing yourself or you won’t get anywhere.I just don’t understand why people think that it’s going to be easy to burn calories.Fad diets don’t work and neither do pills. Is that really so hard to understand? You didn’t gain the weight overnight, you’re not going to lose it that way.Let’s also not forget that yo-yo dieting hurts your body in the long run.But that’s all for them to figure out.Let the pill-poppers have a heart attack when their heart rate gets up too high. They have been warned.
I know all the reasons people think it’s easy like tv ads and such. I just don’t understand the psychology behind it. Why are we programmed in this country to want everything RIGHT NOW? Anything worth having is worth fighting for, IMO.

Here is what I would do. Use an almost crash diet without feeling sick. Eat 3-4 times a day with only the right amount of servings of calories. Eat breakfast (cereal with whole grains, low fat milk, and fruit) ,lunch (turkey sandwich no mayo ,water, and even low fat chips) ,snack ( anything to get some fruit in like a low fat smoothie) ,and dinner ( meat , water , veggies, and a little potatoes). I lost almost 5 pounds in about 3days and with a little extersize you could lose 10 pouns in about 4 days. Hope it helps. P.S. Never go on the celbrity diet you will just get sick.

Is there a diet to go by to lose fat below the belly button and thighs more effectively?

I’ve been on a low-carb/low-sugar diet since March, and excercise out the wazoo. I do cardio activity everyday 60-90 minutes, and stability ball excercises for my lower belly fat and thighs I’m trying shed (but won’t go!!!) . I was not that overweight to begin with, which is why for 5 months all I could lose was no more than 12 lbs. But I have very stubborn fat in these areas that will not go. I do crunches, too. I’ve exhausted all avenues and have no clue what else to do. Could it be because that even tho my diet consists of fruit, vegetable, meat, dairy, nuts, beans, & whole-wheat bread — that it’s in high fat grams that I can’t lose weight? My diet is low-calorie (as all low-carb/low-sugar diets are) I take in no more than 1400-1600 calories a day, but it’s high in fat grams. Could my diet be hindering fat loss in lower-belly / thighs? Or are there other things I need to be doing amidst the diet and workouts?

Helpful Tips for weight loss:

1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch

Keep to a 1,200 food intake

Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) …and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn’t seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.

I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body’s principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day.

What kind of workout are you doing ? I know you’ll need to do cardio to loose that thin layer of fat, then proceed with muscle strenghtening. Also, you should be eating 5-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism going otherwise your body is going to set into starvation mode, which isn’t what you want.

Admin answers:

Unfortunately the body is not capable of spot reducing weight. You lose weight over the entire body. Eating a diet of celery and water is not healthy for the body. The body needs other nutrients. Also, granola although it looks like its a good snack really is not, unless you make it yourself and do not put alot of sugar in it. The best diet is everything in moderation and do not drink your calories, meaning stay away from soda and stuff

Help me come up with a weight-loss plan for working out please? (10 points to Best Answer)?

Hey:

Okay, so I’m 14 and my sister is 12 and we both want to start working out; not just for weight loss, because honestly we’re pretty thin as we are and she’s even more slim than me. But either way, we wanna do it for the lungs and the heart; not to mention how powerful you feel post-working out. I wanna be in my mid 40′s and look back on this and look as if I’m in my early 30′s like Jennifer Aniston.
Anyway, we’re starting to do Pilates 2 times a week and the other 3 weekdays, we’re gonna work out at the gym for 45 minutes and then jog for another 45 minutes and then bike for another half hour. I want to work out 6 days a week, 2 hours a day.

Then, on Saturday, I might take up some yoga occasionally and I’m going to take a dancing class or just swim or do something to stay active. I’m thinking about either taking Sunday off or making it optional rather than mandatory. I want to be strict with my food, too; I want to eat 5 small meals a day and lots of veggies, fruits and drink tons of water. First, I guess I’m gonna start off as a thing that I feel I must do but I hoping the purpose of it will change through time and eventually, I will gradually feel it’s more of a habit and take it seriously and as importantly as brushing your teeth or heck even taking a shower! Bottom line, I wanna cut down carbs, not exceed my strict-policy, no-exception limit to 1,200 calories a day (if possible, less) and I’m gonna do lots of cardio, aerobics and weights.

Easy things like excluding some whip cream on my coffee, not adding a topping to my ice cream, eating protein without rice, and other things like that.

XOXO,
Thanks in advance. (:

Admin answers:

First of all, DON’T GIVE UP CARBS…you’ree too young b/c you’re still developing and carbs help your body do just that. Instead replace bad carbs(most white products like white bread and rice and pasta) and replace it with whole grains and whole wheat. Those are good carbs that help your body function; the white carbs tend to be stored as fat. Also drink 2% or skim milk and dairy products. If you can find a food chart online, follow it b/c if you don’t need to lose weight then you really should be eating at least 1800 calories…technically 2000 but not everyone can stomach that much. A food pyrmid will make sure you’re eating the right amount of foods so that you can have the best potiental for development(in all areas; brain, eyes, teeth, even reproductively…the amount you eat deals with all of that).
You have a really good workout routine already. Like you seem to have everything already planned out perfectly so I don’t exactly understand what you need help on but I only suggest that you do take a day off b/c as you workout you”re putting your body under a lot of stress and you need at least a day for it to heal. When at the gym, the ellipitical is great and so is the bike and steps. Try a few things out and see what you like the most(You can probably also get someone to help you out a little with exactly a plan) Remember to stretch before and after all your workouts!

Can someone make a weight loss plan for me? (POiNTS FoR BEST ANSWER!!!!)?

Hi, thanks for looking at my question. My name is Autumn and I’m 18 years old. My issue is that I’m sick and tired of being overweight. I have many reasons to lose weight and I am finally ready to get going. I have tried so many diets which have failed. I really need someone to break it down for me and show me how to lose weight…I need a weight loss plan. I just really would like someone to tell me what I should be eating and doing for exercise.

OTHER INFO:

I need to lose 50 pounds in 2-3 months. (I know this is extremely hard, but it is possible.) I just don’t know what I should exactly be doing to acheive this goal. I currently weigh 238 and I am 5’7.

I have a gym membership at ballys.

I would like my meal plan to consist of easy to prepare foods, preferrably microwaveable frozen foods and canned foods as well as fruits/veggies.

Basically, I need a meal plan and exercise plan for the gym so I can lose 50 pounds very quickly….I need an INTENSE, hard to follow weight loss plan since I need to lose a drastic amount of weight quickly.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYBODY! SORRY ABOUT THE LONG INTRO..

Admin answers:

I’m far too tired to break it down into the specifics, but I will give you a basic overview.

The minimum calorie intake a person must have is 1200 calories a day. So from now on, start cutting around 200 calories a day until you reach 1200 and absolutely NO LESS. Do not starve yourself as that is extremely detrimental to the entire process. Basically the sweet spot, calorie wise, is 1200-1500 calories per day. That said, ditch all the junk food, no dessert, no ice cream, no soda, no candy, no white rice, no white bread, NO JUNK FOOD. PERIOD. (Diet soda contains 0 calories, but its still horrible for you)

Drink water! For your weight, you should probably be having over 12 glasses a day as indicated from this article: http://www.shapeupshop.com/weightloss/water-weight-loss.html
Read it.

Exercise. If you want to lose 50 pounds, that means you cant go walking. RUN. 30 minutes a day minimum, best in the mornings before breakfast. Breakdown of that 30 minutes: 15 minutes warmup (light jog speeding up to medium run), 15 minutes cycle (2 minutes light jog, 30 seconds sprint), walk a lap or two to warm down. However, i strongly suggest you run not only on a track, but be careful not to overwork yourself, as you may develop stress fractures, if you are not used to running. Lifting itself will not burn very much fat, but increasing muscle mass will help keep it off. For now however, i suggest you ditch the gym for some good old cardio such as jump-roping and running until you are around 180 before you start hitting the gym and pumping weights.

If you are actually intent on losing that 50 lbs, you’ll stick to the basic outline I gave you EVERY DAY. No breaks, no days where you can eat anything you want. If you can follow it through, you’ll see dramatic results. Best of luck to you.

Admin answers:

I did Jenny Craig and it is a good program, but very expensive. I spent approximately $400 a month on food, not to mention the extra I spent on the veggies and fruit I had to eat. Weight watchers does have some pre-packaged foods, but it also works with food you can make yourself. If I had it to do all over again (and I need to lol) I will be going to Weight watchers so that you can actually learn to eat right, not just pick a package out of the freezer and eat. JC you don’t have a lot of choices of food and it gets boring. I did it for 6 months and lost 40 lbs. But, you need to exercise or else you will plateau and that gets discouraging

Best Plan for Weight Loss?

I am sixteen years old and have put on 10-15 pounds. I would really like to lose 10-15 pounds before March 1, 2010. I am a vegan, swimmer and runner. I would like to keep my vegan diet, but also lose the weight. My number one problem is overeating, especially high fat items like nuts. Please don’t judge me, but if anybody has an easy to follow meal plan that I can follow till March so that I can stay energized for my swim season and lose the 10-15 pounds fairly quickly, that would be heavily appreciated.
Admin answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

It is not possible to spot reduce fat in just one part of your body, like your belly. In order to lose belly fat you will need to lose the fat all over your body.

In short you may need to start:

1) Eating healthier, this means:

Eat smaller meals
Eat more meals a day
Don’t starve yourself
Eat more vegetables and fruit
Drinks more water
Less sugars and empty calories (less soft drinks, cakes, cookies)
Switch to whole wheat versions of your bread and pasta, brown rice instead of white rice

2) Exercising:

Forget crunches, crunches work your ab muscles but they dont burn enough calories to lose belly fat, if you do hundreds of crunches daily you will have great abs but you wont see them under your belly fat.
Prefer full body exercises they burn the most calories and increase you metabolism for a few hours after your workout.
Get a training partner or a fitness trainer, a very worthwhile investment – of the money you save on junk food for example =)

Try also to reduce stress and get enough sleep. Both of these are related to weight gain and emotional eating.

Changing your diet to only healthy foods is the best thing you can do and will ensure you will lose weight if combine with walking everyday especially.

You can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.

1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. Drink only water, juice, & milk..3. Walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.

(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)

A lot of people say crunches, but I’ve found that crunches are good for toning the muscle underneath the fat, but dont help for the layer of fat ontop.
I know its probably impossible to loose all of the fat, but what exercises can I do to get rid of the maximum about of fat in my tummy?
Please help

Admin answers:

Well, a lot of people are probably going to comment with some new ground-breaking exercise program, with scientific evidence to back it up. I’m going to keep it simple:
- junk food makes you bloat. So try and avoid it for a while. (soda and fried foods, especially)
- everything you do burns calories, literally everything. When your body has burned through all of the calories that you’ve consumed, it starts slowly consuming your fat. So get active!
- try and exercise 3 or 4 days a week. Find something you enjoy, whether it’s jogging, pilates, tennis, etc.
- make little changes to burn more calories. If you’re watching tv, do 15 or so pushups/squats/crunches/etc during every commercial break. If you need to catch up with a friend, take a walk with them instead of IMing or texting. If you’re babysitting, play tag with the kids.
- drink more water.
Good luck

You have to burn more calories than you take in. IF you need to loose it bad, then you need to diet also. I’m not talking drastic changes. Just eat more vegies, no sodas, no candy bars. You also need to lift weights. I would say walk atleast 10 miles a day.

Instead of driving to work I walk there. It takes me 20 minutes each day. If you can’t do that, maybe you use lifts?
Then get off one floor earlier and walk the last bit.,.. It is only a few steps but doing them over and over will make you that extra bit fitter and then maybe you might want to get off two floor earlier.
You can also start drinking water only. These are all small steps but they work, the main point is sticking to these steps and adding more and more until you will be just fit.

Admin answers:

Calorie control is the key. For every 3500 calories you burn, you loose 1 pound. Same thing for gaining, for every 3500 calories that you burn, you loose 1 pound.

Your body naturally burns a certain amount of calories per day WITHOUT exercise. Go to this link: http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm. Put in your height, age, weight, and activity level and you’ll get home many calories you burn in a day.

For example, I naturally burn 1800 calories per day, so I decreased my calorie intake to just 1300 per day (1800-1300=500 calories burned per day) hence, with this, I would loose a pound a week (500×7=3500 calories burned per week) Follow me?

This reeeally works. I did this and lost 25 pounds in a few months!!! Combining this with exercise like jogging DRASTICALLY speeds up the weight loss. You’ll see the pounds melting off of you…Trust Me!!

Also, drink LOTS of water (2.5 liters/day), eat healthy (cut out sugar & processed carbs), and split your meals up into 4-5 SMALLER, more frequent meals per day instead of 3 large meals (this keeps your metabolism going strong throughout the day).

Sorry, this is so long, but trust me…this works and it’s easy once you get in the groove of it.

I am only a size 3 but I have enough belly fat to make me look like I am 3-4 months pregnant. I can’t take any of the belly fat burners they sell over the counter, because they mess with my heart. I have heard that studies show women with belly fat have a higher risk of heart disease. My brother died at 29 of a massive heart attack. Heart disease already runs in the family. I want to lower my risk. HELP!!! I am skinny everywhere except my belly.
Like I said, I am skinny everywhere but my gut. No health probs, but certain drugs give me heart palpatations. I have awesome leg and arm muscles, and everyone says I don’t eat enough. So I don’t know what causes the belly fat. I don’t want to lose the weight, just the fat. I am not overweight by any stretch of the imagination. Can stress cause it? Thank you for the advise so far.

Leg lifts, scissor kicks, and crunches if you have access to an incline bench do the crunches on and incline. If you do not have access to an incline bench hold weights in your hands as you do the crunch motion. Don’t do sit ups they have a resting point. You don’t want to let your abs rest. Except at the end of each set for about 30 seconds then on to next set. Honestly less is more I do 3 sets of 20 on crunches, leg lifts and scissor kicks I do them every day. Aerobic exercise is key to do like an hour a day. I know its hard with kids but aerobics boost your metabolism. Which helps burn that stubborn belly fat. Walking is the best thing. Some one recommended a fat burner supplement those are usually protein. If you are not working out HARD that will pack more weight on. Hard meaning body building.

Does everyone with RSD get terrible Hot Flashes (not to mention major weight gain)?

I have had RSD for 2.5 years. It started in my right arm after a freak accident and soon traveled down my leg. 1 year ago I got into a car accident and it made the RSD “travel” to my left side and gave me whiplash. Now I have RSD in all four limbs and in my neck. I have done every possible injection with no relief and fortunately, stopped the process on the Permanent snipping procedures when I realized that they seriously limit future options if it doesn’t work ( which the chances of it being effective for me were pretty low). I am not a candidate for a spinal stem stimulator because of the amount of damage to my limbs.
However, I have found that I can usually deal with the pain ( with the aid of Methadone, Morphine and Flexeril) but there are several side effects that I just can’t take!!!! I get terrible hot flashes that make me feel as though my eyes are burning in my face! My face and hair get all sweaty and I sometimes feel faint. Once I have had a hot flash, I will usually have a series of several or I will continue to feel overheated and clammy for several hours. I’ve only heard of hot flashes in Menopausal women who treat it with hormones. My doctor does not seem to care, but this is REALLY bothersome to me. I’m not even 30! Does anyone have any tips or ideas to help?

Secondly, I gained 40 some pounds in about 4 months and have been unable to do anything about it. I have always been thin but now I am 35 pounds over the maximum weight for my size/shape! Before I got hurt weight loss was easy; I just hit the treadmill or elliptical machine a little harder for a few days. Now I’m lucky if I can go for a walk that day. If I have a good day I can never decide if I should go outside and do as much as I can or if I should take it easy in the hopes that I will have more good days. I eat very healthy and have cut my portions in half considerably to no avail. My doctor just put me on 10mg 2x/day last week to help me lose weight and to keep me awake ( lately I’m so tired I could sleep 20 hours /day). Now I just feel bloated to the extent that I look 7 months pregnant- no joke! If my body is broken, it’s not fair that it has to look bad now, too.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get a grip on these two side effects? Sometimes the side effects are more difficult to deal with than the RSD itself!

HI – I’m really sorry about your accident and your RSD/CRPS. I’ve had CRPS for 11 years – mine too is ‘full body’ and has left me in a wheelchair. I have the opposite problems to you – I get terribly cold all the time as a result of being unable to properly maintain my body temperature. I only have to sit in a cold draught for a few minutes to start turning blue… I am also very thin because in my case the CRPS also affects my organs – I have very severe gastroparesis, which means that I vomit up almost everything that I try to eat. I also take topamax for the burning pain associated with my CRPS, which is one of the few drugs that has weight LOSS as a potential side effect. Most have a tendency to cause weight gain.

Sorry I can’t be of more help – but if you want to email me, feel free.

Weight loss for teenagers?

Three of my friends and myself (we’re around 18) are really trying to lose some weight. More specifically, fat. None of us have that much to lose, but at the same time it feels like no matter how hard we try, we just can’t lose it! It helped a little, losing 2 or 3 pounds and maybe 1 or 2 inches. We’re trying to eat better, but sometimes it’s not that easy.

We need help.
Gym. Should we join a different gym? Our current gym is “Curves” which is actually a very nice place with very nice women, but it doesn’t seem to be working as well as we thought. We enjoy the half hour convenience and the fact we’re not surrounded by women and men with perfect bodies. Is this not the right type of gym for us?

Eating. How can we control our eating habits better? It’s hard to choose a salad over a juicy burger. And at school, we aren’t really sure how many calories are in our food. We know eating better is a big part to losing weight, but we just can’t seem to do it.

Any advice, tips, or facts would be greatly appreciated!

Calories is a large topic when it comes to weight loss. We need to learn 3 things: the volume of calories in our food, the volume of calories a certain activity expends every sixty minutes, and finally our own personal daily allowance of calories. I found the responses to all of these questions by visiting the website in the box below, they have lots of guidance, I shed 10 pounds by doing as they advised.

In need of weight loss help….feel like cutting fat from me arghhhh?

i don’t need anyone to tell me how to diet, because i know how..i have a problem with doing it since i had my son.
Before i was pregnant i had slimmed down a lot, i didn’t gain much weight during pregnancy and it seemed to drop off straight after but then it all came back on. I used to gain weight on my legs but now it goes on my tummy…It seems that everything i eat goes on my stomach.
I do exercise and eat healthily but then i seem to get to a stage where i binge for a week…it’s really bad. Some days i’ll eat 4 chocolate bars on top of a take away. I’ll do that for say a week and then the week after i’ll feel so bad that i only have coffee and one digestive biscuit for a week. I know in my head that it isn’t right but i can’t stop myself. I HATE how i look. I won’t even take my son swimming, he’s only been once and he’s 8 months old now.
I’ve done weight watchers before and did well but i’m a mum and a student now so my time is very limited. But when i try to do it at home i don’t stick to my points.
I’ve got to the point where i’ve fantasised about cutting fat away from my stomach. I am a size 14(uk) but i feel huge and when i look in the mirror i see a 20 stone woman looking back at me. My breasts are a H cup and i want to cut them off too. I’m only 20 but i feel like an old frump.
i don’t want your pity but i would like some tips on keeping motivated and some quick/easy healthy recipes as having an 8 month old and a house to keep (i live alone) and 4 assignments i find i go for the quicker food which is usually the worst for me…

I’m seeing a lot of excuses for why you can’t do this. The first thing you need to do is change your mentality – NO EXCUSES! Planning to fail guarantees failure.

The only way to lose weight, get fit and stay that way is the slow way – healthy diet and regular exercise.

No dieting: dieting ends, a healthy diet is a lifetime of good habits. A basic healthy diet: lean meats, dark veggies, whole grains, lots of water; reduce processed carbs (soda pop is Satan!) and increase fiber. Snack on fruits and veggies instead of salt and sweets. WW plan encourages this sort of eating – use what you learned from Florine! Allow yourself a splurge once every two or three weeks – it’s easier to be good if you know there’s a treat in your future. Educate yourself – there are thousands of websites with nutrition information. You can tell the good ones – they aren’t selling a quick fix. Everybody has different needs – find what works for you and stick with it.

Exercise: start easy and work your way up. Make the time 3-4 days a week – an hour walk with the stroller, a stroll on the treadmill, whatever. NO EXCUSES – it has to become a habit. After a few months start challenging yourself – add leg weights, join a gym, take dance classes, something. Add exercise to your day in small ways: take the stairs instead of the elevator, do isometrics at your desk, ride your bike to school instead of the bus. There are exercises you can do that involve your baby – healthy for you, and your baby will learn to be active, too.

Sadly, exercise doesn’t burn enough calories to lose much weight – two miles on the treadmill equals about half of a Big Mac. But exercise is irreplaceable for a healthy heart, stamina and flexibility. That means a longer and more active lifespan. Again, education is the key – anatomy and physiology is the owner’s manual for your body. Avoid websites that are selling the Patented Nuclear Abdominatorizer of the Week – they are more interested in your wallet than your health.

Don’t quit just because you fall off the wagon one or twelve times – that’s just an excuse for laziness. It took years to develop your bad habits; it will take time to change them. You will make mistakes – forgive yourself and get back to work.

Remember – your biggest obstacles are laziness and unrealistic expectations. Your best tools are perseverance and education.

Good Luck!

Find a flat location that has something behind your head you can grab onto. Raise your legs to 90 degrees then slowly lower them. Do this about 10x then take a break then try 10x again then a break then 10x again until it burns. After a week or so start holding small weights between your feets and repeat.
29 and got pcos diet advice please?

I am trying to lose weight, now i know the link between pcos which i was diagnosed with 2 years ago, and insulin resistance, there are days and weeks where my weight seems to go up or down a few pounds, i have also over wuite a bit of time lost a stone with the help of being on metformin i think, i was just going between probably not eating as much to eating less carbs, but not strictly.
I have not lost anymore though and need to.
After recent talk about the gilr who lost 3 stone in 3months and died, they were talking about it on tv on the bbc, and had afew different health workers on, one person said that this lady was eating too few calories. they said that a obese women is probably consuming more than 2000 calories so even if to start with she cuts down to 2000 she will still lose weight, and then assuming you cna cut down a bit more.
So they said you basically eating healthy and less is key to weight loss and also to do exercise.
Others have said if you have pcos you should be doing atkins, sorry for a day its fun afetr that no thanks, and as easy as its supposed to be, and great there are all those phases you have to do, and once you do it for a while if you don’t maintain it then you might as well not bother.
Plus i know that a basic diet sheet from a gp won’t help many, they emphasise on having healthy starches at each meal, if you did atkins you’d not be able to, plus if youe trying to cut out carbs or eatlow, you’d have to watch every little thing, apart from being able to cut out the obvious ones that are almost if not totally carbs.
I have thought about just cutting it down ,but my down fall is sweets stuff.
I’ve noticed that on packets of food, they highlight the calories, sugar.fat, and salt so these must be the most important things to watch and cut back on, and not starch. I find it hard though to eat less fat and sugar and reduce caloried i would rather do one or the other. My dietician told me to not eat anything with more than 8 grams fat or 10grams, which i’ve now read a low sugar product is considered 5grams or less per 100grams, she said that doing this would cut calories anyway.
I feel that when i eat like something starchy at each meal and like when i have cereal with milk, orjust if you eat quite bulky food my stomach is bloated the top part below my chest, but i assume this may be eating too much at once or too quickly, or maybe certain things that i eat.
I notive when i eat less wheat my stomach is better, but then i know as this is probably not a aleergy i have it will not give me many results or help much with weightloss.
So if you have any tips or advice i would be very greatful to hear it. Thanks

Admin answers:

In two months of course you can but it will take some effort on your part. It all depends on how motivated you are man and the number one thing here is going to be your diet. Anyone can go out and run or walk for an hour or more everyday but the most important part is what you put in your body. We often think of eating as a social event where we gather and often eat the same type of things as those around us (greasy, fatty, cheeseburgers from Mcdonald’s) but the truth is eating is not social and never was. Eating is survival; is is fuel for your body to maintain. Now that most of us have office jobs our bodies don’t have to survive like they used to. Not to mention that the food we eat as most Americans does not help at all what so ever. So I would just recommend going to google and searching for some low fat and calorie meals. Don’t worry about carbs unless they are the wrong type of carbs. Our body still needs a little energy from carbs to do workouts. But i hope this helps

Easy Exercises to Lose Belly & Chest Fat for Men?

Admin answers:

Step 1

Focus on muscle building as well as cardiovascular exercises. While you should focus on working your chest and stomach muscles, you should also continue to work all the muscles of your body. By increasing your muscle mass over the entirety of your body, you increase your metabolism, which means your body burns more calories throughout the day. For cardiovascular exercise, running is the best type of exercise to melt away fat. If you have lower back or knee problems, you can also walk or ride a bike. Do at least 30 to 45 minutes of non-stop cardio exercises three to five times per week.

      Step 2

Use crunches to build and tone your abdominal muscles. Lay with your back on the floor, bend your knees while keeping you feet flat on the floor and then fold your arms across your chest. Slowly raise your upper body toward your knees lifting your shoulders about six to eight inches off the ground. Hold at the top for one second and then slowly lower your shoulders back to the floor. Perform three to four sets of 20 to 25 repetitions three times per week.

      Step 3

Perform leg raises to tighten up the lower areas of you belly. Leg raises focus on your lower abdominal muscles. Lay on your back with your legs stretched out but knees slightly bent. With your hands at your side, slowly raise both legs off the ground about eight to ten inches. Hold for one second and then slowly lower your legs until your feet touch the ground. Perform three to four sets of 20 to 25 repetitions three times per week.

      Step 4

Perform regular push-ups to help tone your chest and belly. Push-ups are a great exercise to help build muscle in the middle chest, shoulders and arms. While in the push-up position your abdominal muscles remain contracted, giving them a static muscular workout. To perform, lower yourself onto your knees, place your hands flat on the floor shoulder-width apart. Then straighten your legs with your weight on your hands and toes. From this position, slowly bend your elbows and lower your body down, keeping your back straight, until you are about one inch from the floor. Pause for one second and then push yourself back up to the starting position. Perform as many repetitions as possible for three to four sets twice per week.

      Step 5

Perform standing push-ups to help tighten up your lower chest muscles. These are easier to perform than regular push-ups and should be done after the regular push-ups. Find a sturdy counter in your home that is at least waist high. Take two to three steps back to a point where you can lean forward and place your hands shoulder width apart on the counter and support your body weight. With your back flat, slowly lower your body until the lower part of your chest touches the counter edge. Pause for one second and then push yourself back up to the starting position. Perform 20 to 25 repetitions for three to four sets twice per week.

I also suggest resistance bands, I suggest ripcords brand as they don’t break on you (I had to go to the emergency room once because I was using bad ones from a gym, and it snapped and nearly broke my hand by slinging itself):

Get the 5 set or 6 set (don’t get it with the DVD).

Ps, if you don’t want to put on too much muscle, use light weights (I suggest getting all 5 sets):

I’m a female and am 5’11″ and weigh 150 pounds. What is my ideal weight/some good weight-loss tips?

I used to weigh 125 when I was in high school and I’ve put on 25 pounds in five years since then. I do not want to be one of those women who gets fatter as they get older. I’m tall, so it doesn’t look as bad as it would on a shorter person, but 150 is a lot for a woman.

I really haven’t ever dieted or worked out before, so any guidance on what is HEALTHY and would be best is appreciated. I don’t want a quick Master Cleanse fix or something that is unhealthy or just a fad. But about working out – I think I’ll hate it. I’m not athletic (tall and gawky here) and have no rhythm or ability physically, so I’m worried about looking like a dummy at the gym. I really have no idea what would be good/what’s easy to do.

5’11′ at 150 Is just SEXY.
Keep it around 150 and you boys will melt for you.
However you should start some form of exersice; whether its jogging, playing sports, swimming, yoga , pilate, squash, tennis, or whatever, choose something that you think you are gonna have fun doing. Doing exercise will make your body produce more endorphines which in turn will make you feel good and elevate your mood.
Also try to replace some of your simple carbs intake with some good carbs. Ie, switch your blueberry muffin into raisinbran muffin. Also try to switch carbs with some protein. I.e switch your fried rice dinner with oven roasted chicken( YUM YUM).
Cutting down on carbs will reduce that bloated feeling you might have sometimes.
In Conclusion, 1)do some exercise you like,2) cut down on some simple carbs, 3) don’t get caught in the media trying to sell you that anorexic look. 5’11′ at 150lbs is SEXY!

wanna losse weight?? tips here )?

ok well you can try the raw food diet.
read this … )
What is the Raw Food Diet?
The raw food diet is a diet based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, nuts, dried fruit, and seaweed.

Heating food above 116 degrees F is believed to destroy enzymes in food that can assist in the digestion and absorption of food. Cooking is also thought to diminish the nutritional value and “life force” of food.

Typically, at least 75% of the diet must be living or raw.

What are the Benefits of the Raw Food Diet?
Proponents of the raw food diet believe it has numerous health benefits, including:
Increased energy

Improved skin appearance

Better digestion

Weight loss

Reduced risk of heart disease
The raw food diet contains fewer trans fats and saturated fat than the typical Western diet. It is also low in sodium and high in potassium, magnesium, folate, fiber and health-promoting plant chemicals called phytochemicals.

These properties are associated with a reduced risk of diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. For example, a study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that consumption of a raw food diet lowered plasma total cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations.

What are the Guidelines of the Raw Food Diet?
1. What can I eat?

Unprocessed, preferably organic, whole foods such as:
Fresh fruits and vegetables

Nuts

Seeds

Beans

Grains

Legumes

Dried fruit

Seaweed

Unprocessed organic or natural foods

Freshly juiced fruit and vegetables

Purified water

Young coconut milk
At least 75% of food consumed should not be heated over 116 degrees F.

2. What cooking techniques are used?

Specific cooking techniques make foods more digestible and add variety to the diet, including:
Sprouting seeds, grains, and beans

Juicing fruit and vegetables

Soaking nuts and dried fruit

Blending

Dehydrating food
3. What equipment can I use?
A dehydrator, a piece of equipment that blows air through food at a temperature of less than 116 degrees F.

A good-quality juice extractor for juicing fruit and vegetables

A blender, food processor, or chopper to save time

Large glass containers to soak and sprout seeds, grains, and beans

Mason jars for storing sprouts and other food
Side Effects

Some people experience a detoxification reaction when they start the raw food diet, especially if their previous diet was rich in meat, sugar, and caffeine. Mild headaches, nausea, and cravings can occur but usually last for several days.

Precautions
The raw food diet may not be appropriate for certain people, such as:
Children

Pregnant or nursing women

People with anemia

People at risk for osteoporosis – A Washington University study found that people following a raw food diet had lower bone mass. Bone turnover rates, however, were similar to the group that ate a standard American diet.
Considerable time, energy, and commitment is needed to be healthy on the raw food diet. Many of the foods are made from scratch. Some ingredients may be hard to find, such as Rejuvelac (the fermented liquid drained from sprouted grains), sprouted flour, date sugar, young coconut milk, carob powder and Celtic sea salt.

People must be aware that certain nutritional deficiencies can occur on the raw food diet, including:
Calcium

Iron

B12 – The Journal of Nutrition study found that a raw food diet increased levels of homocysteine due to vitamin B-12 deficiency.

Protein

Calories
Critics of the raw food diet say while it’s true that some enzymes are inactivated when food is heated, it doesn’t matter because the body uses its own enzymes for digestion. In addition, cooking makes certain phytochemicals easier to absorb, such as beta-carotene in carrots.

Another critique is that the human body has changed in response to eating cooked foods. Some of these changes are that are jaws and teeth have become smaller, our stomachs have shrunk, and our small intestines have grown longer, lengthening the digestive surface area.

According to other alternative diet theories, such as macrobiotics, Ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine, a raw-only diet may not be appropriate for people living in colder climates or for people with certain constitutional types.
i put this up because i wanted to help people that wanted to loose weight!!
“An Apple A Day…” – Cider Vinegar Health Benefitstopic posted Fri, October 13, 2006 – 12:18 PM by Craig

Many people are now convinced—Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), that wonderful “old-timers” home remedy, cures more ailments than any other folk remedy and has been highly regarded throughout history. In 400 B.C. The great Hippocrates, Father of Medicine, used it for its amazing health qualities.

The reported cures from drinking Apple Cider Vinegar are numerous and include: allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, Candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, gout, and even heart pain. Apple Cider Vinegar breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has soaring blood pressure under control in two weeks!

For centuries, the benefits from cider vinegar to fight infection, promote digestion, fighting osteoporosis, have been well known. One of the first goals on the way to great health is to restore the body’s pH to the alkaline range. As nearly all chronic illnesses take place in a body that has become acidic due to the gradual depletion of its mineral reserves, it is logical to check on the body’s acid/alkaline balance and to work towards maintaining it in the alkaline range. The state of the body’s acid/alkaline balance can be easily measured by testing the urine using pH strips.

INTERNAL BENEFITS:
. Rich in enzymes & potassium
. Naturally supports a healthy immune system
. Helps control weight
. Helps soothe dry throat
. Promotes healthy digestion & pH balance
. Helps remove body sludge & toxins

ACV is also a natural antibiotic germ fighter, fights E. Coli and other bacteria. It is an excellent remedy for food poisoning and helpful in digestive upsets. ACV helps control and normalize weight and improve digestion. ACV helps relieve arthritis stiffness and rheumatism.

Use two teaspoons (2 t.) in a pint of water daily for yourself—or one teaspoon in the dog or cat’s drinking water—as a healthy tonic. Drink a daily tonic of apple cider vinegar to help you keep the right pH balance in the urinary tract, since the proper acidity creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria and yeasts that cause these infections.

EXTERNAL BENEFITS:
. Helps maintain healthy skin
. Helps promote a youthful, healthy body
. Soothes irritated skin
. Relieves muscle pain from exercise

ACV helps to maintain healthy skin, promote youthful, healthy bodies. Soothes pain of sunburn, the itch from bug bites, and the sting from plants. ACV helps prevent dandruff, itching scalp, baldness, and dry skin. ACV soothes tight aching joints, sore muscles. Apple cider vinegar also removes sebum and environmental and product buildup on the hair shaft.

COMBINE WITH NATURAL BEE HONEY TO:
. Relax the nervous system
. Promote deep sleep
. Relieve rheumatism
. Relieve arthritis
. Relieve bone and muscle pain and soreness
. Relieve heart ailments
. Relieve stress
. Relieve insomnia

Mix organic apple cider with pure raw honey and drink at night before going to bed. Great for calming nerves, promoting relaxation and relief of bone related ailments. Adjust the amount of vinegar and honey for comfort and taste. See my recommended recipe here:

RECIPE:
250 mL (8 oz) Purified Water (warm enough to melt honey)
1 to 2 teaspoons Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (Organic recommended)
1 to 2 teaspoons Honey (Local, raw, non-GMO recommended)

(Honey comes from flowers and has a very light energy. I recommend honey from flowers that are known to provide support for heart and lungs. Use local honey to help provide relief from allergies and build immunity.)

Apple Cider Vinegar is proving very beneficial to people and animals with arthritis because it breaks down calcium deposits in the joints while re-mineralizing the bones. It has shown to be equally beneficial to dogs with hip dysplasia. ACV is also effective for urinary tract infections, and it lowers high blood pressure. In animals, it is helpful in skin and coat problems and in replacing potassium depletion. (Cranberry juice is also a well-known home remedy for urinary tract infections. It prevents bacteria from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract.)

A new University of California-Davis Medical Center study shows that daily consumption of 12 ounces of apple cider or apple juice can reduce the risk of heart disease. And the benefits don’t stop there. A recent Cornell University study found that the antioxidants in apples also inhibit the growth of certain types of cancer cells.

ACV has been found to protect arteries from harmful buildup of plaque. Many heart attacks are caused by high amounts of fats and cholesterol in your blood. The fiber in ACV helps to absorb fats and cholesterol by expelling them from the body as waste materials.

ACV is used to promote the health of veins and capillaries; it is also useful in assisting in the health of the heart. The potassium found in apple cider vinegar is also beneficial to the heart.

The dietary fiber in ACV is beneficial in controlling glucose levels in the blood. Minerals like manganese, calcium, magnesium, silicon and iron develop bone mass and make them stronger. It is also a rich source of amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

ACV boosts the immune system and acts as a natural antiseptic and anti-biotic. Apples contain Vitamin C and flavonoids, which helps with wound healing and in reducing the severity of colds and flu symptoms. Apple cider also has acetic acid, plus ion-futynic lactic and propionic acids. It is the richest source of amino acids known.

Apple cider cannot cure cancer, but it is valuable to have around to help fight free radicals in the body. Beta-carotene, found in apple cider vinegar, is a powerful antioxidant, which helps to neutralize the free radicals formed in the body through oxidation. To prevent these free radicals, and to keep them in check, we need antioxidants to rid our body of these potentially dangerous compounds. Left alone, free radicals have the run of our bodies; they damage cells, which leads to cellular degeneration. The pectin in apple cider vinegar adds fiber to the diet, which helps prevent cancer, especially colon cancer. Fiber binds with certain cancer-causing compounds in the colon, and speeds up their elimination from the system.

VITAMINS IN APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:
. Vitamin C
. Vitamin E
. Vitamin A
. Vitamin B1
. Vitamin B2
. Vitamin B6
. Pro-vitamin beta-carotene
. Vitamin P

MINERALS & TRACE ELEMENTS IN APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:
. Potassium
. Calcium
. Magnesium
. Phosphorous
. Chlorine
. Sodium
. Sulfur (the mineral – not the sulfa, which some people are allergic to)
. Copper
. Iron
. Silicon
. Fluorine

BENEFITS FOR YOUR DOGS (AND OTHER PETS):
Every home with dogs should have Apple Cider Vinegar. It has multiple uses for dogs, including: alleviating allergies and arthritis, and establishing correct pH balance of the system.

Added to your pet’s drinking water, ACV has shown to maintain the acid/alkaline balance of the digestive tract. To find your dog’s pH level, get some pH strips at your local drugstore. First thing in the morning test your dog’s urine. If the strip reads from 6.5 – 7.0, then your dog’s system is what it should be. If the pH is higher, then the system is too alkaline, and ACV can help to establish a correct pH balance.

Dieting Tips for Women with PCOS?

PCOS makes me CRAVE carbs, the one thing that I should definitely not be eating a lot of. It’s very frustrating to say the least. I can say that, once diagnosed, I found it much easier to deal with the unexplained weight gain because I had something concrete to focus on. And there are many support systems out there to help me. The one I’ve found the most helpful is http://pcos.insulitelabs.com — they offer a comprehensive plan for weight loss. They also provide support blogs on the topic. This one is particularly helpful: http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/blog/index.php/?cat=12
